Upon our arrival, everything was so perfect starting from the representative who was waiting for us and he was so helpful & kind and he didn’t leave us until we finished all of the formal procedures inside the airport and once everything was ready, we met our amazing tour guide outside the terminal. His name was Mohamed El-Shimey and he was one of the most professional tour guides I have ever met in my life. He has been very knowledgeable and dedicated to his work. He made us spend the best tour ever in Cairo and we went to lots of amazing ancient attractions, knew lots of information about the history of ancient Egypt, and captured so many amazing photos on each site. The most interesting place we visited was the Giza Pyramids Complex where we took lots of Photos, entered inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, and the tour guide showed us the best stores to buy the most astonishing Egyptian artifacts & souvenirs.
Ibrahim was our driver in Cairo and he has been a very polite & sweet person. He was always there on time and he waited for us in each place and never made us be in a hurry. We loved every single moment of our tour in Cairo & Giza and it was actually a very successful beginning for many amazing days to come to Egypt.
We had a special request from ETP. Operation department which was removing a tour to Saqqara & Memphis from the tour itinerary since we wanted to enjoy our lunch meal at Marriot Mena House and we thought that this might be a problem since everything was actually confirmed but what we received from that amazing agency was absolute acceptance and the best assistance for the transfer to the hotel and that definitely got our admiration as we always dreamt about having a flexible amusing vacation in Egypt with no restrictions and that is exactly what we had.
On the following day, we had another unforgettable adventure to the great attractions in Old Cairo. We visited lots of captivating historical, cultural, and religious sites including the mesmerizing Egyptian Museum, the incredible Saladin Citadel, Mohamed Ali Mosque, and we went also to Khan El-Khalili Bazaar where we managed to but tens of amazing Egyptian items & souvenirs in the best price you can imagine. My wife loves accessories and she spent the best time while buying lots of items & doing shopping in the biggest open-air market in the country.
After that, we had to take our flight to Aswan city at 13:50 and once we arrived at Aswan Airport, we met our amazing tour guide, Mr. Omar Haridi who was a really amazing person and helped us a lot in achieving our dream while touring Upper Egypt’s exceptional attractions & archeological sites. He transferred us on that day to our hotel and told us about the pickup time on the next day to be prepared and let us have some rest to get ready for another unforgettable adventure in Egypt.
We can say out loud that our trip turned into real magic as Mr. Omar did his best during the tour to allow us the spend the most magical time. We were able to read some hieroglyphics which were written inside Philae Temple and he also told us lots of amazing stories about the ancient gods & the Egyptian Pharaohs. What really captured our interest is the English which is spoken by Mr. Omar as he had the best English we heard in Egypt and we managed to understand him in everything he said. He also managed to speak fluent Italian.
On the following day, we managed to head to one of the most amazing temples we have ever seen in life which are called Abu Simbel Temples. The road wasn’t that long and our dear tour guide kept telling us lots of secrets and information about Ramses II and his wife, Nefertari, and their love story was actually the best one I have ever heard. My wife even asked me to build a temple to her just like how Ramses II did to his wife……LOL.
We returned to our hotel in Aswan that day with lots of incredible stories to tell to our family & friends back home and also with lots of enthusiasm to continue the rest of our journey in Egypt.
On Sep 30th, we had a visit to Kom Ombo & Edfu Temples, and to be fair, those temples were really great as each one of them was built for a specific deity just like what Mr. Omar told us, and they were dedicated to God Sobek, the crocodile god, Horus, the Falcon-headed god. We had the best time there and we also experienced the best oriental food at a wonderful local restaurant. The food was prepared in a very good way and we had a lot of fun during our day tour.
At the end of our day tour, we were transferred to Luxor city by a modern air-conditioned sanitized car and we had there a very smooth check-in at our hotel and overnight.
On Oct 1st, a new adventure began as we have visited some of the greatest attractions of Luxor city including huge temples, monuments, and we also visited the Valley of the Kings where we saw the royal tombs of King Tutankhamun & Ramses II. We captured some time in Colossi of Memnon spot and went to the largest religious temple in Egypt, Karnak Temple.
There aren’t actually enough words we can thank our guide Omar Haridi with. He was very dedicated to his work, he became a dear friend to us and we started exchanging messages via Facebook & WhatsApp and till now we are in touch with him. We really hope that next time we come to Egypt; we meet him and enjoy another well-organized tour with him.
We spent our night at our 5* hotel in Luxor and had enough sleep so that we get prepared to catch our flight on the following day back to Cairo and from there to catch our return flight back home. We also requested the assistance of Mr. Omar to assist us in preparing a PCR test to be able to get back home and he assisted us to get one as fast as one could.
Egypt is really a beautiful country that deserves to be visited and its kind people make it a truly exceptional place to visit that is different from anywhere else in the world.
