According to Turespaña, Spain received 80.4 million international air passengers in 2022. This is only 15% less than the pre-crisis 2019. Passenger traffic at Spanish international airports reached 5.7 million in December, representing 95% of December 2019 passenger traffic.

- The authorities will allocate €3.1 million for awareness and marketing campaigns for the Madrid destination in the US and Canada.
- €8 million will be directed to marketing in South Korea and Japan.
- Another €2 million are planned to be spent on promotion in China and other countries in Southeast Asia.
Priority areas include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil.
Immigration Incentives For Investors
Another valuable bonus for real estate buyers in Madrid is immigration benefits. Buying a house, commercial facility or land (one or more lots) with a total value of half a million euros, you can get a “golden visa” in Spain.
The Spaniards also offer a residence permit for financially independent people (Residencia no Lucrativa), allowing entry and permanent residence without the right to work. The basis for issuing a residence permit in this case is the presence of passive income from non-Spanish sources (pension, dividends, royalties, interest accruals, and proceeds from the rental of real estate) in the amount of €27,800 per year.
Plans for the near future include a Spanish digital nomad visa. Applicants are expected to prove that they have earned income from non-Spanish sources (employers or customers abroad) of three times the monthly salary.
